This Privacy Policy describes how Meltime ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Meltime is a minimalist focus timer with a calming liquid visualization, Live Activity support, and saved presets. We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping the app's data footprint as small as the app itself.

1. Information you provide directly

During onboarding and regular use of the App, we may collect:

  • Onboarding preferences: your stated goal, pain points you relate to, and the liquid colour you choose
  • Timer preferences: saved presets, default durations, notification and sound settings
  • Feedback and feature requests you submit through the app
  • Subscription status for access to premium features

2. Information automatically collected

  • Device information: platform (iOS), operating system version, app version, device model
  • Anonymous usage analytics collected via PostHog: onboarding steps viewed and selections made (goal, pain points, chosen liquid colour), timer events (started, paused, completed) with duration and selected colours
  • Purchase information: subscription and payment data processed through RevenueCat and Apple's payment systems

3. Information stored locally on your device

The following data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:

  • Saved timer presets
  • Last selected duration and dial positions
  • Sound, breathing background, and screen-awake toggles

How we use your information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery: to provide the timer, Live Activity, and other app features
  • Personalisation: to remember your chosen liquid colour, presets, and preferences
  • App improvement: to analyse anonymous usage patterns and improve the experience
  • Customer support: to respond to your feedback and support requests
  • Subscription management: to process and manage your paid subscription

RevenueCat

  • Purpose: subscription and payment processing

  • Data shared: payment information, purchase history (handled directly by Apple)

Data retention

  • Account data: we retain subscription metadata for as long as you use the app. You can request deletion at any time.
  • Analytics data: anonymous analytics are retained according to our providers' policies (typically 90 days to 2 years).
  • Local data: presets, preferences, and session state remain on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
  • Secure storage for any data on our backend
  • Limited access to data by authorised personnel only

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
